The last party of the season of Initiate took place at the Fuse on Saturday. Meeting between initiated and newcomers, Initiate got us in an deep techno atmosphere with two Parisian techno jewels, AWB and BLNDR.
The event was proposing an exclusive line-up in Belgium. For the warm-up, a B2B rhythmed by Pierre, Fuse resident and Pattrn, from his real name Brice Deloose, co-founder of the Initiate parties and of the collective FTRSND. It was followed by the techno, ambient and mental sonorities of Layn, resident of the collective, rich by his influences coming from labels like Hypnus.
Nothing better to introduce BLNDR, first headliner of Saturday, coming from Paris. Indeed, the artist is signed on Hypnus, Ovunqve or even on Semantica. Unique hardware live performance, his delivery was clearly from high stature with a set which was more clubbing than his usual performances. Travelling between ambient and dark techno, deep and hypnotic.
At 24 years old and branding his minimalistic set-up, the artist imposed his universe to the public, who was asking for more. Next one, the second headliner of the night, AWB.
AWB or “Auto White Balance” is the co-founder of the Parisian label “Taapion records” created with Shlomo. They are promoting a part of the French techno scene with artists like Antigone, Kasst, Bambounou, Roman Poncet or François X.
With a softer beginning of live performance than BLNDR, AWB offered some rest to the public. But then, speeded up the BPM. His dj set, clean and structured – from an universe in-between deep techno and techno – offered a closing worthy of the name for the 3rd season of Initiate at the Fuse. It is quite obvious that we are waiting for the next season, which is already promising.
