De School Shuts Its Doors: End of an Era for the Amsterdam Nightlife

Amsterdam’s vibrant nightlife scene faces a significant blow as the iconic Club De School bids farewell, marking the end of an era for electronic music enthusiasts and partygoers alike. The announcement of the club’s closure has sent ripples through the community, eliciting a mix of nostalgia and disappointment.

A Pillar of Amsterdam’s Nightlife

For years, Club De School stood as a pillar in Amsterdam’s dynamic nightlife landscape. “Het Einde”

“Het Einde,” the closing weekend of the club, took place from January 12 to January 15, featuring more than 80 acts playing from Friday right through until Monday. The club bid its farewell with the longest night De School has ever known. A final thank you, scored by the artists who’ve made De School what it is today, echoed through the farewell celebration.

The closing night, “Het Einde,” boasted performances by finest artists such as Spekki Webu, Woody92, Konduku, Dj Nobu, Sedef Adasï, Talismann, Amotik, Answer Code Request, Mama Snake, Jasss, Blawan, Pariah, Job Jobs, Mor Elian, Rhyw, and many others.

While the closure of Club De School is undoubtedly a loss, the resilience of Amsterdam’s nightlife community remains unbroken. As the city adapts to new realities, there is hope that new venues will rise to fill the void, and the beat of electronic music will continue to echo through the canals and streets of this dynamic city.
