Always loyal to the eternal eclecticism of our dear Dour, the festivalgoers will be back from the 11th to the 15th of July. The festival is already branded as THE festival you can’t miss. Swung by the shouts of joy of everyone screaming « DOUREEEUH », our enthusiasm is even bigger when we discover programming. Anyway, it is with impatience that the InDepth crew will go to La Plaine de la Machine au Feu for the annual ritual of Dour Festival.
Dour’s programmers have struck for the third time with the announcement of additional names to the line-up for the 30th edition of the festival. Higher, bigger, stronger and even more pleasant, those announcements have enlightened our Thursday 8th of February and will probably treat us during the 5 days of the festival. Its notoriety has made it a real experience, far beyond a festival. No matter the music style that you are looking for, no matter the expectations that you have, and especially, no matter the stage where you land, you shall never be disappointed.
They are coming from all over the world or at least, from all around Europe. The festivalgoers flooded in mass number in 2017, with a new record of 242 000 people for the 5 days.
This year the number of expectancy could lead to a new breaking record. We already got our mouth watered with the beautiful panel with our national Lenske, Floating Points, Paul Kalkbrenner that will perform his new live performance. The powerful German techno with Rødhad, Ben Klock, Pan Pot and the captivating Recondite will be part of it too.
Our German neighbors continue to be well represented. Indeed, programming has added the duo Âme II Âme who are rarely performing together, but also Boris Brejcha with a live performance and the unmistakable Kollektiv Turmstrasse. The Baron of Techno, Dave Clarke, will also be there to share with us his very personal techno. More melodic, the members of Hungry Music Label, aka Hungry 5, with Worakls, N’to and Joachim Pastor announce an unprecedented live perf’. Finally, last but not least, the American Robert Hood will honor the festival with his presence for the second time with his techno “made in Detroit”, occupying the techno scene for almost 30 years now.
Among the 7 stages of variable styles, the Redbull Elektropedia Balzaal will be able to welcome 10 000 festivalgoers by itself. It’s the perfect spot for ravers, techno lovers etc. The line-up is promising, we will have the opportunity to see perform the international techno hitters during the festival. Furthermore, the stage design is becoming more and more impressive through the years so we have the right to wonder on what infrastructures we going to run into this year, knowing that the 2.0 cathedral of last year was already part of the show.
Without forgetting the local scene, the festival always stays up to its promises regarding its diversity, its eclecticism and its singularity.
Now a well-established festival, the organization gets better and better each year, always being rethought to propose the very best to the festivalgoers coming from all over the world for the Belgian party atmosphere and the quality of programming which is always aiming bigger.
This anniversary year will probably welcome new festivalgoers screaming « DOUREEUH » for their very first time. They will get stars in their eyes, stars that we all kept, even after a few editions. Never disappointed, always came back.
