At the end of june, took place the Paradise City Festival at the Ribeaucourt Castel at Perk. During 3 days, Belgian and international artists came performing with a various programming in a paradisiac environment.
As a recipe for a successful 4th edition: electronic programming mixing house, deep house, techno and live performing, meticulous scenography, fine dining and remarkable organization. Everything with an ecological spirit in an idyllic place, in the fields and at the water’s edge.
DAY 1
A first day starting the festival with house sonority with the Play Label Records stage. We could find local artists like Exon, founder of the label or Latence but also international names going to the Parisian Flabaire to the famous Chicago DJ, Lil Louis.
On the side of the Love stage, conducted by his founder Renaud Deru (Attari), we could find Cleveland, Perel and Jennifer Cardini.
The 3rd stage hosted Ketaloco but also a sunny B2B between Hush Hefner and Konna, young artist on the rise (whose to meet on our podcast: here)
DAY 2
The Ketaloco stage became the “Live” stage, with an eclectic program including a live performance of the Belgian Haring and also Whomadewho. On that same stage, we also saw Goldfox who made a DJ set influenced by afro, oriental and electronic sounds, of course. This set has been retransmitted on the famous streaming website “BE-AT.TV”.
The Brussels collective Under My Garage was also one of the headlines of Saturday. They proposed a rich and sharp selection of artists including our big crush of the festival: Or:la. The young Or:la delivered a rhythmic and dancing set in a perfect sunset atmosphere.
DAY 3
Last day. Three “stages hosts” invited. This time, it was the turn of Abstrkt, Club Silo and the Belgian DJ, Nico Morano to lead the afternoon.
Abstrkt offered a remarkable program of “live acts”, opening with the Brussels DC Salas, followed by Romare, Red Axe and KInk.
The stage of Nico Morano welcomed artists from the Afterlife label, with Patrice Baumel and Denis Horvat. The enthusiasts have been spoiled by Nico Morano himself playing longer than expected for the closing.
On the side of the “Silo” stage, we had a high-class performance from DJ Koze and a crazy closing with Laurent Garnier.
Paradise City Festival 2018
We can retain a various programming that dared mixed styles. The festivalgoers can definitely wander between the 3 stages while satisfying their envy. Only the real sharp techno and deep techno lovers might have been left hungry for more.
The organization is clearly the strength of the festival. From the accommodation to the choices of the food trucks, passing by the accessibility and the sanitary, everything was on fleek for the premium customers.
Not to mention the ecological and sustainable aspect with 100% of the decor made by recycled materials, no single-use plastic. But also by the supply of veggie and vegan food, via a good selection of food trucks selling fair trade and local. It makes of Paradise City Festival a real exemplary event, concerning ecology.
In other words, if you want to escape in a natural and spectacular atmosphere, drunk in music and good vibes without forgetting the respect for the environment and for the sustainable development: rendezvous next year at Paradise City Festival for the 5th edition!
